Hanging Procedure
Your Disney wall mural is rolled on one continuous bolt containing all the panels you need to complete your wall mural. Each panel is alphabetically labeled in the sequence that they are to be installed starting on the left side of the wall. The Winnie the Pooh wall mural contains 7 panels, Fish Are Friends, Fantasy Princess and Ballroom Princess Murals each have 8 panels.
The finished size of the Winnie the Pooh wall mural is 10? wide by 8? high, the Fish Are Friends, Fantasy Princess and Ballroom Princess wall murals are 12? wide by 8? high.
The bolt is 18 ¼? wide and each panel is 8?-6? long. The extra width and length are provided to allow for trimming and to accommodate uneven ceilings and baseboards
With a pencil (do not use ink) and a level (or a plumb bob) lightly draw a vertical line where the edge of the wall mural is to be installed. If you are starting the wall mural from a corner, draw your straight line 17¼? from the corner.
Remove the first panel from the bolt. (Panel A) Roll the strip with the prepasted side out and submerge in a water tray fill with lukewarm, clean water. (The use of additional paste, and paste activators is not necessary or recommended). Put the rolled strip in the tray so that when it is drawn from the water, the pasted side will be up.
Immediately draw the strip from the water tray by taking the end and letting the roll unwind as it is drawn out of the water. Pull the strip onto a drop cloth with the paste side up. . Do this slowly; ensuring all the paste is completely wet.
To activate the paste before installing, bring the ends of the sheet toward the center, paste side to paste side, carefully aligning the edges sot that they do not dry out. (Do Not Crease) Loosely fold the strip without creasing and allow the sheet to rest for five minutes.
Start by hanging the first strip along the plumb line that you drew earlier. Smooth the strip into position using wallpaper smoother. Using an even pressure, start in the center of the sheet and smooth out towards the edges removing all bubbles. Avoid stretching and do not overwork the edges.
Tip: If new bubbles develop after smoothing, increase the time that you are allowing for each sheet to rest.
Trim excess at the top and bottom of strip, with a snap blade knife. Refresh blade edge every 3 cuts to maintain a sharp blade, which will give you smoother cut and avoid tearing the mural. Use a trim guide or a broad knife (spackling knife) to trim against to give you a smooth edge.
Immediately clean the surface with a damp clean white cloth or an uncoloured sponge. Change water frequently to assure it is clean. Do not allow adhesive to dry on surface since some adhesives contain solvents that can adversely affect the product or turn yellow in time.
Repeat this same procedure for each panel, matching the subsequent panel to the previous panel. During hanging, match the seam at eye-level smoothing upward and downward from there. Butt seams firmly together, but do not overlap.
Recheck previously installed panels making certain that all edges are smoothed firmly to the wall and there are no large air bubbles.
